Individual Psychotherapy

I provide virtual psychotherapy appointments, which are typically 55 minutes long, for adults throughout Oregon. The process begins when we schedule your free 15 minute consultation during which I can learn about your current concerns. This allows us to talk and see if, based on your needs and my expertise, we are a good fit to work together. At the conclusion of the call I will make a recommendation for next steps.

Ongoing psychotherapy sessions are generally scheduled on a weekly basis, but may be less often based on your needs and life circumstances. The duration of therapy varies. Many clients feel better within 6-8 sessions, and many others benefit from longer treatment.

Virtual Therapy

All sessions are conducted online through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

Virtual therapy offers flexibility and convenience while providing the same thoughtful, individualized care as traditional in-person therapy. Clients can attend sessions from the comfort and privacy of their own home or office anywhere in Oregon.

Insurance & Rates

Insurance

I am in-network and able to directly bill the following insurance companies:

  • Medicare
  • Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon

I am also in the process of becoming in-network with several insurance plans. Please check back for updates regarding what insurance providers I will be in-network with in the coming months.

In the meantime, clients may choose to use their out-of-network benefits. If you are considering using out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with contact information for your insurer so you can verify your coverage and reimbursement rates before our first appointment.

Following the appointment, I will provide you with a ‘superbill’ for therapy services that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Chronic Anxiety

For some, anxiety goes far beyond an occasional experience. It becomes intense, persistent, and unrelenting. It begins to define your life. Post-traumatic stress, panic attacks, uncontrollable worry, obsessions and compulsions. Left untreated, chronic anxiety is a spiral that only gets worse over time.

I have an extensive background in treating chronic anxiety. I have been a member of the Anxiety Disorders Treatment Team at Pacific University’s School of Graduate Psychology and have also trained and worked at Portland’s Anxiety & Panic Treatment Center. During my years as the sole behavioral health provider for Multnomah County Health Department’s primary care division Refugee Clinic, I had the privilege to work closely with many displaced individuals to successfully treat their Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.

Depression

Heaviness, somberness, morbid thoughts and suicidality, crying spells, numbness, thoughts that no one really cares. These aren’t just feelings–they’re symptoms. Depression is a medical condition that is treatable with medication and evidence-backed therapeutic approaches like values-based behavioral activation.

I have worked with individuals struggling with depression for over fifteen years, along with having personal experience overcoming it. Get in touch with me to begin your journey back to feeling energy and joyfulness in life.

Elder Adults

Days marked by boredom and indecision. Feelings of loneliness and resentment that follow you around all day. Once driven by a sense of meaning and purpose, your daily life has become dominated by one aging-related ailment after another. Thoughts of loved ones and acquaintances you have lost cause you to look into the future with fear and sadness rather than hopefulness.

Over my 20 years of working with people, I have had the chance to work with so many wonderful elder adults from many nations and walks of life. It has given me a keen perspective that it is our emotional health in general, and in particular our relationship to aging itself that accounts for so much of our daily experience of growing older. I support older adults to move through grief and find old and new sources of meaning and connection.
